Buy or order a virtual tour: what is the difference and what is more profitable
Often clients come to us with the question: “How to buy a virtual tour?” The implication is that this is something like a finished product. In fact, a virtual tour is more of a service for its creation and integration. We do not sell “ready-made” tours that you can simply take off the shelf. We create them for the specific tasks of each customer, be it a restaurant in the center of Moscow or a large production site near Samara.
Why does a business need a 3D tour?
Virtual tours are more than just pretty pictures. This is a powerful tool for business that helps solve specific problems and increase profits. Here are some key benefits we see in practice:
- Increased conversion: According to our data, the presence of a 3D tour on a website can increase the user’s time on the page by up to 300%. For example, a client from Kazan, the owner of a small hotel, noticed a 15% increase in direct bookings in the first three months after adding a tour. People study a property longer, visualize it better, and make purchasing or booking decisions faster.
- Reducing empty impressions: This is especially true for the real estate industry. A potential tenant or buyer already has an idea of the premises, its layout and condition in advance. This cuts out those for whom the object is not suitable, saving agents time. One of our partners, a real estate agency, reported a 40% reduction in the number of “empty” views after introducing tours.
- Expansion of sales geography: A virtual tour allows you to show your property to clients from anywhere in the world. This is especially valuable for the tourism business, hotels, and exhibition centers. We did a tour for a large developer who was actively selling apartments to foreign investors - without the tour it would have been much more difficult.
- Increasing trust and transparency: The openness that a 3D tour provides gives clients a feeling of honesty and reliability. You don't hide anything, you show everything as it is. This builds loyalty.
- Competitive advantage: Not all companies use 3D tours yet. If you implement it now, you will stand out from your competitors and attract more attention. It’s like once having a website was an advantage, but now it’s the norm.
How it works - the shooting process, timing, result
The process of creating a virtual tour in 360° Space, although it seems complicated, is actually well-established. It all starts with your request and discussion of goals. We figure out exactly what you want to show, for whom, and what interactive elements are needed.
This is followed by our team visiting the site. Filming is carried out using professional equipment - panoramic cameras and laser scanners. For example, when shooting a 600 m² restaurant with several halls and a summer veranda, we usually spend from 3 to 6 hours on site, depending on the complexity and number of details. It is important that the room is as prepared as possible: clean, tidy, without unnecessary items.
After shooting, the data processing stage begins. This is the most time consuming part. We stitch together panoramas, create a 3D model (if it’s Matterport), add interactive points (infopoints, videos, photos, links), navigation, floor plans. The average time for creating a tour is from 3 to 10 working days, again, depending on the scale and complexity of the project. For large objects, such as shopping centers, this can take up to two to three weeks.
The result is a ready-made, fully interactive virtual tour that can be integrated into your website, sent to clients via a link, or used for presentations. We offer several options for storage and delivery of the tour:
- Cloud 360° Space: These are our high-speed servers with technical support. The tour will be available 24/7, loading quickly anywhere in the world.
- Customer server: If you have your own IT infrastructure and strict data requirements, we can deploy the tour on your server. You are in complete control of your data.
- Offline version: Sometimes you need access without the Internet. For example, we were asked to make an offline version for an exhibition to show the object on a laptop or in a VR headset. We are preparing a standalone build for PC or a special version for VR headsets.
We do not use the term “perpetual hosting”, as this is not entirely correct. We provide flexible accommodation formats that meet the client's needs on a long-term basis.
How much does it cost - price range
The cost of a virtual tour is one of the most frequently asked questions. The price depends heavily on many factors: the size of the object, the number of survey points, the complexity of interactive elements, the need for a 3D model (as is the case with Matterport), transportation costs and the chosen method of placement.
For example, a simple tour for a small apartment or office can cost from 10,000 rubles. If we are talking about a large production complex with dozens of premises, complex navigation and integration with an ERP system, then the cost can be significantly higher. On average, for objects up to 100 m², prices start from 15,000 – 20,000 rubles.
We always approach pricing individually in order to offer the optimal solution. The exact cost can be found after discussing the details of your project. For a preliminary assessment, you can use our online calculator.
